@elih limited/exclusive typefaces as NFTs will be more expensive, making fonts inaccessible and unaffordable for many. Many type designers, including myself, would not be happy with their typefaces being used/owned by a wealthy minority.

@marsidesino I think 99% of fonts will be open source soon. The OFL basically won already. Prices fall to the marginal cost of production. Proprietary fonts are already unaffordable and unusable by most people. I have never paid for one. But NFT’s can also change the value proposition of digital goods from a scarcity based on limiting information access to one based on provable provenance, they have no need to rely on gatekeeping access to NFT content to secure value. https://elih.blog/diffuse-value-capture/
