thinking about starting a place to put typeface process/development blogs/writeups... does anyone have thoughts about putting it on my foundry site vs. some kind of newsletter/blog platform? if people prefer the latter, does anyone have any recommendations? (i will not be using substack.)

@elliscarsonjones@typo.social I’d recommend to put it on your own site first and then promote that on other channels. That’s the most sustainable and future-proof way, in my opinion.

@elliscarsonjones@typo.social I like website + RSS feed (use interesting and descriptive titles); but email also works.

@elliscarsonjones@typo.social I've been using Beehiiv for my newsletter—the free plan goes up to 2500 subscribers.

@elliscarsonjones@typo.social I haven’t used it myself, but I have heard very good things about Ghost: https://ghost.org It allows you to publish stuff on your own website *and* via email updates. It’s also open source and free to use if you are willing to self-host an installation on your own server.

@elliscarsonjones@typo.social as a reader I’ll always prefer website & RSS, but Buttondown has also been great for sending email newsletters
