I heard the following - and to be honest it's definitely true of London black cabs "if you get hit by a black can it's on purpose". Green badge holders are very skilled and hyper aware of potential loss of livelihood , not so much caring of dangers to Peds/cyclists, but it amounts to similar outcome.
Minicab drivers / Uber etc - completely other story.

@MatthewNewell @ronanmcd yeah, I thought through the different flavours of taxi while posting, and around here I can't tell the difference between a licenced hackney carriage and an ooba.

@MatthewNewell @FourT4 @ronanmcd you say that but I was commuting to work on my bike from West to central London 3-4 days out of 5 from 2012 through to 2019 and the black cabs in 2019 were so much better than when I started. I think the cycle hire scene did a lot of that, hapless tourists cycling on the wrong side of the road and all that.
