How to say you don't understand how the internet works w/o saying...
1. this bullshit legislation passes
2. porn becomes impossible to host in compliance
3. legitimate porn dissappears from the normal web; reappears underground in Tor etc.
4. usage of dark nets proliferate; the BAD content skyrockets due to network effects - now there's NO enforcement or moderation at all.
5. it is now x10 harder for law enforcement to tackle the BAD stuff.

@tezoatlipoca@mas.to @neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk while what you say it's true I think would be great having a proper (and verifiable) confirmation as a customer that actors consented and are of legal age + a mechanism to revoke. I think we have the means to do it (think of digital signing consents or age verification), but legislators lack the necessary understanding of technological means. Which just results in bad laws.
