This 10 Gbps USB-C adapter is under $100, tiny, and fast—check out the new generation of 10 GbE NICs in my video. If you need faster Ethernet, this may be the ticket! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYZbZJZfCFI

@geerlingguy@mastodon.social Another interesting option might also be the announced expansion card for the framework: https://frame.work/de/en/products/wisdpi-10g-ethernet-expansion-card

@geerlingguy@mastodon.social meanwhile, I just bought a couple of home switches and skipped on paying an extra £50 to get the 2.5Gb versions. And downgraded my broadband to from 500Mb to 350Mb to save £5 per month. I just don't have many use cases where I need anything quicker, so I may as well save the money.

  • @geerlingguy@mastodon.social I got one! I was able to max out our 2G/1G internet with it plugged into my iphone doing a speedtest, whereas the UDM Pro speedtests can't even do that... Haven't tested it at 10G, but at least now I can if I want to!
