Got a letter from my federal Labor MP today (once on a 12% margin but very nearly lost to an independent last year) about how good Labor is, giving our new local GP-led bulk billing clinic as an example. Well, I nearly self combusted with anger at what Labor is NOT doing. Then caught the last half of Butler's NDIS press club shitshow, which put everything into focus: how about we just cancel AUKUS and start funding shit properly (Dental? Disability? Aged Care? Jobseeker? etc etc etc)? #AusPol

@sister_ratched NDIS is especially egregious. It takes a terrible human to ignore the need to increase JobSeeker, but it take a true monster to take money from disabled people to pay for meaningless "budget repair" and aged care. It's class, age, etc, warfare, of the highest order #auspol

  • @sister_ratched Amen. My GP bulk-billed for a few nanoseconds last year, and now it's back at full price, pensioner befooked. Consultation the other day lasted 2 minutes. No, the path report isn't back yet. No that thing on your arm is nothing to worry about. $70 please. Ka-ching!

@sister_ratched I hate those letters. So smug about nothing and completely ignoring everything I do care about.

@sister_ratched so much for social cohesion. Disabled people should just disappear. Too bad if they don't have supportive families.

@sister_ratched Last year, I wrote to my Federal *no longer marginal, now pretty safe* MP regarding proposed cuts to the NDIS. I may have mentioned AUKUS waste. She promised to get right back to me. She did not. One less vote doesn't bother her anymore.
