I'll probably never be able to afford to retire, but I can damn sure try to find ways of making money that make me feel good, even if the money is just barely enough to live on. That's my goal.

My ideas about retirement are heavily colored by two family deaths: First my aunt died in 2006. She was 67 and her biggest regret was that she worked too much and then didn't get to enjoy retirement. Then my mom died in 2009. She was even younger, only 61, and her biggest regret was also that she worked too much and then didn't get to enjoy retirement. It's certainly made me think about priorities.
