@keirFox I'd imagine so... :blobfoxsad: If there's one thing I've learned, is that no job is worth eroding your psyche or core beliefs for. The burnout, crashout and years of therapy isn't a good tradeoff for the income earned. You can always earn more money. You don't get your time back, though... May you find a way to be free of the shackles of what's weighing you down, and also find the means to support yourself and your family. :blobfoxheart:

@keirFox It's remarkable to me how spicy autocomplete has tricked so many people into cult-like behavior. I believe there are appropriate and ethical usage for generative AI technology. Unfortunately, the majority of the usage is unethical, sloppy, and the models have been trained with theft and blatant resource waste. Even in my world, I've been asked multiple times whether I was going to use AI in my work. Fortunately, I've been able to push back by describing the nature of industrial controls: boring, reliable, and as simple as absolutely possible. I can't imagine how frustrating it is to work in an industry where you're feverishly being demanded to use an inadequate unethical tool that empty-headed MBAs think will "inevitably" replace you ASAP.

@keirFox Getting laid off when I did suuuuucked but... I was approaching this level of burned out too, so it ended up being sort of a blessing in disguise. Still need to figure out my next chapter though.

@keirFox did this a year ago and haven’t looked back. Omg what a relief. (But please only do if financially viable)
