@joshsutphin This is an interesting point. Mastodon is about to introduce their own version of Starter Packs, called Collections, and wondering if one of the effects of these will be to load up people's follows and actually dilute engagement. Keeping the number of accounts per collectios small is one consideration to avoid this phenomenon. Would also like to see some way to load collections onto Lists. #collections

@joshsutphin Actual engagement has more of an effect here than any other platform that I’ve looked at. Back & forth conversations garner more independent followings than the number of likes & boosts. It’s more of a community than a popularity contest, while still offering the legit opportunity for random belle of the ball posts. I curated the fuck out of my Twitter followers, not allowing non engaging followers & had a relatively similar feel with far less of the normal Twitter algorithmic agro
