@littlefox@gotosocial-dev.svc.0x0a.network so not 100% sure what you meant by 'other upgraded CPU in' and then everything being fine, but, just to be sure I wanted to note that it's indeed correct that two different CPUs, even if they're the same socket, usually don't work together. Even having the same CPU but a different stepping can cause it to not POST. That said, nice you got it working c: cozy supermicro machiney

  • @anthropy@mastodon.derg.nz it's a single socket system; I had a i3-4170 in there and initially upgraded to E3-1285L v4; which initially gave me a "memory not installed" POST code Installed the old memory again but still got that POST code swapped in a E3-1285L v3 and it POSTed fine, also with the new memory dropped the E3-1285L v4 in again and suddenly it was happy 🤷‍♀️
