Given all the legislation in the works now, I had to revisit what research is saying about the online safety “control paradigm” & just some of the reasons why it’s not good for children - https://www.netfamilynews.org/lawmakers-controlling-and-banning-kids-doesnt-help - linking to remarkable scholarship in 4 countries, including Sonia Livingstone’s latest on where “screen time” came from & how very unhelpful is this concept on which 4 US senators base their argument for a “child protection” law

@annecollier Troubling that many of these proposed "child" protection laws require adults to provide personal information before engaging in constitutionally protected speech.
