Radicalization and eating disorders aren't new phenomena, by the way. I very seriously doubt that even corporate social media is the true cause of this problem, simply because this problem long predates social media.

@argv_minus_one @apz i literally started off saying age verification bad, but there is a real problem here. Algo feeds really do radicalize people and make them crazy. you are what you eat and that includes media. the fact that people on big tech platforms are having their opinions and even realities shaped by shit like Facebook.. well. Facebook has at least one genocide on their tab, one that wouldn't have happened without their involvement... this is a real and global problem.
