Looking at two e-books I'd like to buy. Both with DRM.
Nope, sorry, I don't want a "revocable license to read on a surveillance device," I want a fucking copy of the e-book that I can read with the application of my choice, in the OS of my choice.
NO SALE.

@alan@mindly.social I'm with you on this one! I'm happy to support creators (of all kinds of things) when what they offer intersects with what I want, but then I want them to give me a Thing that I can *keep* using *without* needing to ask anyone for permission every time. (Whether every time I want to use the Thing, or every time something about how I want to use the Thing changes.)
