This might not be the right place but does anybody know where I can get an at-home sulphur water testing kit? Even the plumbing store doesn’t sell them anymore. For reference it’s to test my well water for sulphur specifically. Edit: after some research and thinking back to a conversation I had today to which I didn’t put the pieces together, I’ve realized it’s likely a super expensive testing kit that I’m looking for. I’ve just reached out to a local water company to see if they have one. #Ottawa #Ontario #Canada

@erin Does the water smell? And may I ask if you avoid online shops? Sulfur sticks can be purchased online. https://www.amazon.de/Quantofix-1138918-Sulfat-Teststick-St%C3%BCck/dp/B06XS46LF5

@erin I took a sample of untreated well water to a place on Colonnade Road for a "general chemistry" test, which gave me various numbers for iron, flouride, sulphur, hardness, manganese, etc. I needed those for setting the parameters on water softener, and for buying an iron-sulphur filter. It was not terribly expensive, about $125, and I was happy to have proper lab numbers that weren't off by me bungling a home test. And I do the city's bacterial well testing every year or so.
