Babylon 5 was so good.
5 seasons, properly outlined right from the start before any shooting - character arcs, plot lines, everything.
A *story with through-lines, believable politics, and strong messaging*.
Two stunningly good actors among a cast of good actors.
The first ever CGI space stuff with "doing physics" instead of "airplanes in space".
First to be filmed in widescreen.
Age and corporate cheapness has been unkind to the effects; but it's some of the best sci-fi there is. Still.

I strongly urge any sci-fi fan to watch it. Almost any fan of good drama would enjoy if they can "get past the silly". B5 is what DS9 stole from. B5 is a precursor to the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. It had a few "dodgy" episodes in the first season where studio execs had to be placated with "but you should be startrek one off episods!" but those pass quickly.
