Ultimately, one of the things I think that's made ActivityPub successful *was* having a tutorial with a very human story at the top of the document. This makes what might seem like a dry and intimidating document feel understandable and accessible I think. I've done this with several specifications since!
In many ways I think aside from the necessary but slow parts of carrying the spec through the process, this was my best contribution to ActivityPub. But everyone listed in that doc did a lot!

By the way, there's a lot of "Christine humor" in ActivityPub, if you go looking for it: - The characters in the spec are the characters from SICP, and their bios reflect as such - In fact, the base story is hinted that the characters from SICP *are lending each other* a copy of SICP - The example of the "source" property usage is that Alyssa is using org-mode to generate her posts on ActivityPub
