I'm looking to finally replace my gas mower (21" self propelled) with a battery powered one for mowing a small to medium sized front and back yard that I currently can mow both sides in about an hour. I have a few trees and a slight slope to my yard. I have access to all the major US chains in my city. Anyone with similar have any recommendations / warnings? #AskFedi #Yardwork #HomeOwnership #Mowing #Lawncare

@Neblib we have a Milwaukee battery powered one. Our yard is slight smallest but get several mows on one charge. It's a high end model.

@Neblib @APBBlue I have a small lawn and have a push rotary mower. Previously I had a battery powered mower and after a few years I couldn’t mow my lawn on one charge. I am sure that battery mowers are much better now but look carefully at battery life and how long a charge lasts.

@Neblib We bought a WORX battery-elelctric lawnmower a few years ago now. It has never let us down.

@Neblib we have an electric Toro we use to mow a 1/3 Arce yard. Takes about 90 minutes but the battery only lasts about an hour. But splitting it between 2 sessions with the trimming is only like 2 hours and the battery can charge up in a few hours so I could get it done in 1 day if necessary. I like Toro because it has a whole suite of yard tools that are all compatible with each other. The mower battery is just a much larger size than the one that comes with the trimmer.

  • @Neblib I use a Ryobi which gets the job done, but can't say I love home depot's politics. If I were starting over with a new tool ecosystem, I would get a Greenworks one from Costco.

  • @Neblib I have an electric Kobalt that I've used for 2 years. I can mow my .5 acre with one charge. I got it at Lowe's. It was $400. It's been doing a good job, battery charges up in an hour.

  • @Neblib If you want to spend a little more Husqvarna makes good electric mowers. You might also check out Poulan, who are owned by Husqvarna.
