I live in a house with a spouse and cairn terrier (Bennie) on Treaty 6 territory and homeland of the Metis 🇨🇦

Moved to Alberta from BC in the 80s. Been trying to move home since retirement in 2018. Meanwhile I twiddle around the house, hanging out with Bennie & reaping the rewards of having a spouse with a greenhouse & 3D printing interests. Moving is taking longer than expected so FINALLY volunteering more.

Interests include tech, OHS and science-based health & wellness.

So data centers create ~~less than~~ on average around 50 permanent local jobs, use a lot of resources and are used by business to lay off workers in favour of LLM based agents. Humanity really is circling the drain. Data centers are coming for rural America https://www.theverge.com/ai-artificial-intelligence/928963/data-center-rural-america-jobs-jay-maine

This wired article is making the rounds. As men get suckered into performing success to other men, it's a good thing women can have independent lives they want to share rather than need to share. Also, spouse is an AI user. I can't imagine all my activities including AI talk… https://www.wired.com/story/meet-the-sad-wives-of-ai/ https://archive.is/tkqy6

So how does disarmament work when settlers are harassing and killing Palestinians in West Bank under the watchful eye of the IDF? They're demolishing Palestinian (and Lebanese) infrastructure under a cease fire. What makes anyone think Israel is a good faith actor? https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/5/13/board-of-peaces-mladenov-says-gaza-ceasefire-hinges-on-hamas-disarmament

FAFO🤷♀️ Canadians are drinking less overall, especially young ones. The 51st State boycott was just the nail in the coffin. Look for new markets rather than crying. QFT If we do not fall into the error of dualism upfront, we can safely speak of soul and emotions just as we speak of a kitchen table, even if the table is also a collection of atoms. It is time to give up the pernicious dualism introduced by the debate on consciousness and embrace the reality that our soul, or our spiritual life, is consistent with our fundamental physics. …

I totally agree with the consultation fatigue aspect. There is no reason there can't be streamlined effective environmental assessment using multiple sources. It's not even a novel concept. Project WarpSpeed got us the first COVID vaccine approval in under 1 year on spite of SARS-COV-1 being an unknown virus. It was accomplished by doing concurrent studies https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/ottawa-proposes-suite-of-measures-to-streamline-project-approvals-complete-review-proce...

👀 she'd vote to separate if it will keep her in power but will never say. She's * led the separatist Wild Rose party * leads a party where 17 MLAs signed the separate petition. * ignored the remain petition with 500,000 signatures submitted before the voter list was shared on line. Then, * changed laws in order for the separatist petition to proceed with easier requirements Nenshi, with the entire NDP, has already said he would vote to remain. #abpoli https://www.cbc.ca/...
