@bflipp I'm more of a casual Trekkie/Trekker. So I don't know if my take is accurate or not. But...I have always gotten the sense that Voyager was not as well liked as the other series in the franchise. If that's true, I guess I'm in the minority. I liked it a lot. I think the thing that was appealing to me is that it was a story that had a known ending--getting back to the Delta Quadrant/Earth. (There were two characters I notably disliked, but c'est la vie.)

@DaveMasonDotMe I hated Voyager because they instantly threw away the entire premise of the show after the pilot and made it TNG but over there. I can't tell you how excited I was by the premise with how daring the DS9 writers were becoming. I wanted Chakotay to be untrustworthy or at least standoffish. I wanted the ship to be barely held together by Season 3. I wanted the crew to die off and have it mean something...that expertise is just gone now. No new officers out here. I suffered through it until Seven was introduced, which I felt insulted by, and stopped regularly watching after that.
