I may have been ethically convinced of transhumanism, but I still retain such viscerally conservative instincts on technology from my youth as a primitivist. Intellectually in one camp, but aesthetically etc, I remain in the other.
I just wanna play with dogs, read books, look at trees; I bitterly resent that I feel obliged to follow AI research papers or learn python libraries.

@rechelon mostly same except I’ve never been a true primmie. I got into tech inadvertently via my obsession with music. I never had a love of futurism or technology for technology’s sake that I see from other tech workers.

@rechelon i fuck with paul virillio and other skeptics of technology... its not so much that technology is bad as it is that humans can't handle it without bringing disaster upon themselves with it... Invent the ship, suffer the shipwreck...
