Apparently Peter Thiel / Palantir posted a "95 Thesis" of sorts on twitter. I got linked to it here: https://twitter-thread.com/t/2045574398573453312
It's fascist clap-trap of course. All of it.
I did find article one interesting because I initially agreed with the very first bit of it.
Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible.
It is interesting though, that they don't conclude however, that they therefore must pay more taxes, or embrace regulation, or give back to the intellectual commons.
Instead they cash it out as "we must kill people, patriotically."
Like I said fascist clap-trap. #uspol #PeterThiel #Palantir

@trashheap@tech.lgbt There's nothing funny about any of it, but this part made me spontaneously laugh out loud: "The limits of soft power, of soaring rhetoric alone, have been exposed. The ability of free and democratic societies to prevail requires something more than moral appeal. It requires hard power, and hard power in this century will be built on software." I understand they are probably talking about autonomous warfare *shudder*, but that feels so out of touch with reality because of all the things that have to happen before that software can run... And the global systems that enable us to make that hardware have multiple, easily accessible, choke points. Anyway, I hate it. :(
