Random question:
Is anyone here working on / with a HVEC Van De Graaff Accelerator? Ideally an "original" belt driven one. I'm looking for details of the charging and terminal brushes, specifically their geometries. There are many different variants with the brushes directly lying on the pulleys, sometimes they're a bit down-stream, sometimes they are down-stream and have an extra opposing electrode... I just would like to know how it was actually done, and not just simple schematic drawings.

This page shows a lot of nice details, including the terminal charge pickup, but unfortunately I can't make anything out on the low voltage end :/ https://opasnajazona.blogspot.com/2011/08/5-mv-van-de-graaff-accelerator.html

@gigabecquerel the accelerator nearby me is from the 1960s so may well be by HVEC. I'll ask.

@gigabecquerel I want to build one of these too, admittedly to help me cut my hair, but whatever.
