@coeurl @ranja thisssss omfg don't get me started on how the popular narrative around transition is one that assumes the trans person is able bodied and has not ever and will continue to not ever experience medical discrimination The big problem is the way that the popular understanding of what it means to be trans, even within trans communities, is based on the experiences of white middle class able bodied AMAB people specifically.

  • @so_treu This! It's so wild that some (not all!!) of what I see non-disabled transfems describe as healthcare transphobia is just what the experience of having any chronic condition is like. Medically transitioning is basically signing up for a long-term health condition as far as the system is concerned. So there's potential for community with all people facing medical racism, misogyny, anti-fatness, healthism, ableism, etc.etc. But that wouldn't make them special. @coeurl @ranja
