@so_treu This! It's so wild that some (not all!!) of what I see non-disabled transfems describe as healthcare transphobia is just what the experience of having any chronic condition is like. Medically transitioning is basically signing up for a long-term health condition as far as the system is concerned. So there's potential for community with all people facing medical racism, misogyny, anti-fatness, healthism, ableism, etc.etc. But that wouldn't make them special. @coeurl @ranja

@bright_helpings @so_treu @coeurl @ranja That article the Grauniad recently about cis women breast cancer survivors waiting endlessly for a reconstruction surgery that just nobody cares about, nobody wants to schedule for them, with utterly shambolic admin procedures, not being able to plan or schedule mid term, trying to keep their calendar clear. Oof, yes, been there, know exactly what that's like. I'm glad for them that they *can* speak out in the newspaper because most Britons think they deserve surgery and there's more than one team doing those surgeries. I still feel so bloody powerless. Like, at some point, the implant I waited a decade to get is going to break and I still don't want to go on the record talking about anything because I'll have to go back to the same team and beg for a place in their schedule and I have zero faith in their process for how that waiting list is managed. I've already been sent to the back of the queue before.... The only solution to this is a massive reinvestment in the layers of admin were were told were 'wasteful'. Wastefully communicating and scheduling, wasteful margins on capacity, wasteful timeliness. Like, if the wiggle room isn't them having the surplus to be flexible, its us putting pur lives on hold.
