@suetanvil Work requires Ubuntu with home-grown installation scripts, constant monitoring of my system, etc. I've been trying to figure out if I can reliably remove the Gnome snaps and switch to .deb. Or figure out how to do xmonad through a VNC or RDP connection, passing my meta key through.

@raven KDE user myself, and the default install had snaps for Firefox, Thunderbird and firmware-updater. The first two I could have been okay with but I have no idea what the long-term implications of deleting it along with snapd are. PopOS seems fine on the laptop so far, FWIW. snapd was there but nothing used it so I could just do an `apt remove --purge` on it.
