@diazona You're getting a little too hung up in "is now in control of" being intended as a final statement on the topic. Of course people can (and should) move to alternatives. I certainly plan to.

@veronica That "is now in control of" is the load-bearing phrase of the whole thread, though. Anyway, my point is that with all the hype about the Astral tools (mostly uv) that's been going around the community the past few years, some people get the impression that it's the *only* viable tool for Python package management. A statement like "Altman is now in control of the supply chain of a significant portion of the Python community" only reinforces that impression.
