... are invisible. You see an email that you already know what to do with, but you don’t see the button to do it! First, you have to hover, then locate where the button appears, and only then move again to click it. So it doesn’t help as much as you’d think. Is it worth the visual noise and flickering that it produces? For me—no. #Gmail #Hover 2/2

@grumpy_website I've got a problem with this in Discord – it shows a basically useless floating toolbar when you hover over messages, and that toolbar covers the previous message, or (in case of replies) the link to the original message. I inadvertently reacted to random messages way too often thanks to this.

@grumpy_website@mastodon.online I hate this pattern in the MS Teams activity log, too. It shows the day when people called you, and according to usual usability conventions I would've expected that hovering the date would reveal a detailed timestamp with the time. Instead, hovering the item replaces the date with a call button and I will never get the answer.
