@froztbyte it's interesting to see, in the post before this, how the person references "the Mastodon team". the semantics are still within the realm of centralized technology. the premise is still that a central authority is dictating the behaviour across the ecosystem.
the idea that several heterogenous communities all reject a technology, a perspective, a discourse can only be explained if they're all told to do so. it can't be that they have autonomy.

@catileptic indeedy and I don't know whether people have seen but this guy is supposedly occupying some kind of senior advisor position to mastodon-the-company (which means that his words have _some_ weight/impact over there) can't wait to see how weakly this gets rolled back! betting a tenner on a "y'all just misunderstood me"

@catileptic @froztbyte he is apparently "Product Strategy Advisor to Mastodon Core team" though, so he has to refer to them somehow.
