@greene This makes me want to scream. My mom is 89, and when I take her to visit my grandmother's grave she can point out the headstones of child relatives who died of polio, whooping cough etc. in the 1930s , 40s, and 50s. Children dying from these diseases is not centuries ago -- it is within living memory.
I was born in '64 and you can bet your bippie my parents got me every available vaccine.

@PamelaBarroway Absolutely. My dad is over a decade younger than your mom and he remembers kids in his community dying of polio, which he himself survived as a toddler. His mom was frantic to get her kids the vaccine the second it was available.

@PamelaBarroway @greene Ditto. My Dad got polio in the 30s and was one of the few from his ward that survived. Months of recovery & rehab allowed him to walk feebly with a cane. I can understand hesitancy when a treatment is in its earliest stages of use. But denial & disinformation - gobsmacked...
