Yes, I agree OP made some good points. Unfortunately I couldn't get past the breathless lauding of even the predictve AI we have which in some cases is very helpful (mainly personal data analysis & search) and in other cases horribly anti-social (like sentiment analysis, mass surveillance, etc.)

@jaredwhite Sure, I don't disagree here. Mass surveillance is a very dark side of this technology. Making a computer "good at figuring stuff out" has that side of it, and like any powerful tool we need a proper democratic control of how it's used. Gen AI has been an incredible boost to crime too. Advance of technology is a difficult thing to manage as a society. I don't think that will ever change.
