@johnefrancis @veronica The big market was supposed to be in legal. Lawyers are just big advanced algorithms after all, right? Right? Oh, they're not? It's not a $3B market (in 1988 dollars)? Oh, shit.
Meanwhile, those algorithms are helping operators of Ontario's nuclear reactors ensure that they're running safely and that nothing is missed. Something I consider to be pretty damn useful.

@alan @johnefrancis @veronica Yep, expert systems. Reliably gave the same output to the same input, every time. And did not chew up electricity or water like LLMs do. And could be adjusted (debugged, fixed) if required.
