I was explaining vibe coding to someone and the best analogy I found is the slot machine. Sometimes you hit the jackpot (big part of implementation gets done), but most of the time you're getting shit results so you have to keep pulling the lever hoping to hit the jackpot again. If you don't do it yourself or don't understand how it works you might think you win every time, but you don't. The house wants you to play but they don't want you to win every time because you'll stop playing.

@inket@mastodon.social The great thing is that there is literally no incentive to improve things!

  • @kkarhan@jorts.horse @inket@mastodon.social If the damned thing is so effective, why do we have to keep pulling the lever? Why wasn't the first result the correct one? How do we know when it's right this time and to stop pulling the lever? IT MAKES NO SENSE NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE and people be like oh you just didn't pull the lever at the right angle, you're supposed to chant a mantra about baby shoes first and then it will do what you want you just don't understand how to use it yet or some shit.
