tbh I think it just got so hyped up. it's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but it's something I played for the first time recently with the remake/rebirth and was like... eh? I bet if I had played it when it came out I would feel much differently for it. It's a time and place thing.
That said, I probably wouldn't have been as irked if they hadn't forced me to play 200 hours of garbage carnival games 😒 😂

@garak @Jinrai Wooo boy I've been a hater for ages. Like you said, thought it was fine but did not understand the rabid fandom for it and was sick of how oversaturated it is. The remakes actually got me to appreciate it more tho lol

@garak @germ @Jinrai I burned out my PS1 because I played it nonstop when it came out lol. I still have a lot of love for it but agree it’s definitely overhyped. I feel like there are at least 4 other games in the series that are better to me.
