@trashpandaqc I've never used TD myself but it was strange seeing it suddenly become v popular. Still, I'm glad it's getting more people into visuals and programming.
Right now I'm happy with cables primarily because it's got great documentation and examples. I'm perhaps unfairly always a bit wary of web-based software as the weight of the browser itself can bring bottlenecks and issues (standalone version is an electron wrapper).
TiXL seems great but it's Windows only. Will definitely check it out when/if it goes cross platform. @emenel

@trashpandaqc I used to check this site for new visuals and vjing tools but it seems kinda outdated now https://linux4vjs.net/ @emenel

@hellocatfood @trashpandaqc my students always want to learn TD, but i won't teach it in class because of the licensing (mainly)... i try to only teach with free/open software so that students never feel like they need a lot of money to make this kind of work.

@hellocatfood @emenel cables has an offline version now too (at least on mac?). not sure if it requires connectivity for any kind of account reasons tho. I haven't dug into it much because of time sunk into TD and Blender, but good to know the docs are good, that's one of my biggest issues with TD for sure
