No matter if you like LLMs or not, if you install an app that is explicitly marketed as having a browser automation feature, it should not be surprising that the app in fact contains code that allows it to connect to a browser.

    @jaseg Yes, I get your point but I think that’s a different question. The issue isn’t that a browser automation app has browser automation code. It’s that the manifest is pre-installed into browsers you don’t have, browsers Anthropic says it doesn’t support, with no consent step and no way to review it. That part isn’t implied by the feature existing.
