@jaseg Yes, I get your point but I think that’s a different question. The issue isn’t that a browser automation app has browser automation code. It’s that the manifest is pre-installed into browsers you don’t have, browsers Anthropic says it doesn’t support, with no consent step and no way to review it. That part isn’t implied by the feature existing.

    @matthiasott as far as I can tell from their documentation, even if they install the connector you still have to manually turn on the desktop automation feature. Since there is no meaningful trust boundary between two desktop apps, I don’t see why there would be any value in not installing that connector other than making it more likely that things won’t work for some users who do things like installing a browser after the automation app.
