@christineburns I’ve seen them “guarding” construction equipment when out with my running group and some of us even set them off trying to get through (it was blocking our running route!) 🤣

@christineburns I've come across them a couple of times, once out on a walk and it triggered on us as we walked by on a footpath. Started playing message about being on camera/monitored. Not a fan. They watch you, but you can't watch them (on the other end of the camera). Feels dystopian... I suppose all CCTV is the same but these also *look* dystopian. Lol 😐

@christineburns Need to throw a cheap blanket over it. Someone would have to come remove it. Do this daily until device is removed.

@christineburns I've seen a few of those. I've often wondered if they zap you with lasers if you get too close. I think they really ought to. That would be cool. And no, I didn't walk up close to one to find out.

@christineburns I spotted a pair of them just inside a factory/office property last week. They are on the private property on either side of the drive but entirely positioned to film the road. I wonder if they have to be situated in pairs for some reason.

@christineburns@mastodon.green They are/were used to protect HS2 construction sites. First time I saw them must be 5 years ago.
