@katiefenn what’s even more wild is that if the tools do what people are claiming (which IME they mostly do), then adopting the tools is actually trivial - and more so as they get better.
But what they still lack is taste and direction - which is what skilled humans are needed for!

@glenjamin Sure - I’ve dabbled with a bit of Codex at work and can see it can be useful. I’m reserving judgment for the time being. The person I am subposting directly compared “people who are averse to using LLMs” to “CSS die-hards [who] refused to use JS frameworks”, and suggested that both are consigned to irrelevance. It was wrapped in faux concern for people making the wrong choice, and felt completely devoid of humanity - as well as being plain wrong that a skill can make you irrelevant.
