@wyatt_h_knott the tl;dr I'm getting is that they did well during COVID then overinvested in stuff and then prices rose and they couldn't pay their loans back. which seems like a fairly typical sort of business failure that a non-coop might also encounter.

    @floatybirb Right, because you still have to succeed in business, regardless of how you're organized.

    @floatybirb The backstory is, people WANTED them to survive, because this is Vermont, and so they got loans that maybe we're bigger or more risky than they should have been, because "community support" was going to make their business succeed where others didn't. The coop part isn't blameless.
