Man, technology was just so much more reliable, durable, sturdy and repairable a few decades back.

you say that as if that makes it reasonable. It doesn't.

@memoriesin8bit@mastodon.gamedev.place It is a shame that the world got hyperfixated on miniturisation. I don't have the perspective to say where the best place to draw a line would be (it's too convenient that my preferences align with what was around when I was a kid), but we're clearly not in a healthy or sustainable place at the moment.
