@kimlockhartga I think it may be more a case of being self-consciously cool tbh. One of the bar staff also corrected one of our party on her pronunciation of a drink's name. 🙄
Honestly I would have just left & gone to a decent beer bar if not for the rest of the group I was with. I don't think I'll be going back.

@NudelnAlDente holy hell! I would have been fired for correcting a guest's pronunciation! We actually saw a guy get fired for just that. Great way to ruin your biz and your tip. It was so ingrained in me that when someone asked for a Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc, I asked if they wanted the red or the white one, because there was no way I was correcting anyone, even if they ordered the karaoke (keoke) coffee, trout ala mode (almondine), or Ryesling (Riesling).
