    @nycki I don't agree with very much of this, but do like the idea of linking chat and a board. Maybe in future lots of interaction modes will come together in a chatforge (tm)...

  • @nycki so this is absolutely the coolest thing to ever come out of something i said... so much here hits on points ive been thinking about for a while now. i do think theres room for a sort of intermediate between i guess 'stories' and 'statuses' that lets chat and the more 'disorganized bulletin' coexist meaningfully but its such a tough line to draw, and in fact part of my thinking was actually a kind of design where new followers wouldnt get to see post history, exactly for these reasons

    @nycki I absolutely agree! Ephemeral chat should be a separate thing. There might also be a wiki instead of a forum. I would also say there is a third thing: Non-ephemeral chat for 1:1 communication.

  • @nycki I really like this post :3 If I were to try setting up separate chat and boards for the Garden in alignment with the concepts, what might you advise on that (with regards to ready-to-deploy software, community norms, and other aspects)
