@hell I mean, you need to do this, but... I trust Microsoft about as much as I trust the scorpion in that stupid fable. Just because you tell them not to do it and just because it's not legal doesn't mean they won't do it anyway... All this presumably does is make it harder for them to be as open about what they do with your data IMO. I'd still argue the better way is to switch to something like Codeberg instead.

@hell The cynic in me assumes the no matter what boxes we tick, Microshite will ignore it anyway. The way most "AI" companies have ignored copyright and robots.txt for example.

@hell Unfortunately unless everybody does this, they'll probably just steal it from forks. Does using profanity still prevent AI tools from working?

@hell Do you really think some checkbox will stop them? How would you ensure that? Never forget it’s Micro$oft. That company was founded on lies. Better pack your stuff and run. Maybe head over to Codeberg, or maybe to your own infrastructure. Did that twice (Github–>GitLab–>Codeberg) with a few (tiny) repositories, it’s doable.
