To me, this reveals a few things: 1. People are quick to jump on Proton (more so than other providers, it feels like) for things that other providers are doing *routinely* and often without even waiting for court orders. 2. Most other providers also have *way* more information about you that they can divulge. Proton has worked hard to minimize the information they have access to (like Signal in the messaging space). 5/?

    3. No company is going to defy a court order for one of their users. If you're high-risk, take appropriate precautions (and that *does not* mean always self-hosting shit...FBI and other police raids happen, so you better hope you can guard against that). 4. If you care about anonymity, use cash. Privacy cards work in other contexts but are linked to your bank account so are useless for this purpose. 6/?
