3. No company is going to defy a court order for one of their users. If you're high-risk, take appropriate precautions (and that *does not* mean always self-hosting shit...FBI and other police raids happen, so you better hope you can guard against that).
4. If you care about anonymity, use cash. Privacy cards work in other contexts but are linked to your bank account so are useless for this purpose.

In conclusion, this feels like a stupid piece of sensationalism, something I would not have expected from @404mediaco or @josephcox. It's obvious that a company will obey court orders and they gave the bare minimum (do you really think Google or whatever would have done better?). This should be part of your threat model if you're worried about being doxxed by a government or whatever. 7/7
