@Susan60 @Maker_of_Things yup, multigenerational living was common until fairly recently which makes it so weird our media is obsessed with young folks staying home longer or starting their families in the family home.
It's just been a blip, of less than 100 years in working communities, that we didn't stay in one of the family homes after marriage and draw retired parents back into our home when they can't support a home of their own

@naturepunk @Maker_of_Things True, but lives were much shorter. When I was a kid, people in their 60s were “old”, lucky to live into their late 70s, & ancient if the made it into their 80s.
