I tried to make this point on a message board once (in fairness, I was foolishly engaging with someone I already knew has a raging case of Never Been Wrong on the Internet Syndrome) and dude got SO MAD at me. FURIOUS that I was "denying the science" when I am literally a scientist who was explaining one of the confounders that inherently limits the interpretability of the science.

@stevegis_ssg A lot of people are really convinced. It's the kind of "common sense" thing that they "know" and don't question. Aren't willing to question. Because it would change everything if they were open to think about it. And I could have written the above paragraph about transgender identities, too.
