Just to be clear, I’m deeply involved with the PSF. I’ve been on the Board of Directors for the last five years. I’ve been the Vice-Chair, and I’m currently the Chair. I was the interim General Manager for about six months while we were between Executive Directors. I’m also on the Python Steering Council, which is separate from the PSF but with a close relationship, and volunteer a lot at @pycon, which the PSF organises.
I've seen the great work the amazing staff does up close.

In case anyone thinks “hey, this sounds familiar”, I’ve done this for a couple of years now, both the thread and the gift matching. The threads were on birdsite, and I won’t link to them (you can find them yourself if you really want to).
