#ScribesAndMakers 18Apr—Do you ever read aloud, either to yourself or others? I do not. Sometimes I'll whisper, but never above that. In elementary school, we often went around the class and read aloud from textbooks. I was usually made fun of for stuttering through words I didn't know, or jumbling words because I read too fast. Since then, I don't read aloud, save the occasional quote from what I'm reading to my husband. Fortunately, I've not yet been in a position where I need to.

@SJHoodlet@writing.exchange To me, whispering is still "reading aloud." When I read my own writing out loud it's so I can pick up on things that I miss when reading silently. The volume of my speech doesn't matter. In fact often I'll whisper or mutter. The important thing is that I can hear the writing.
