  #WritersCoffeeClub 10Aug—Do you reuse characters? Only within a series. Although, there is mention of one character from The Way of the Wielder series in Tredania Chronicles (my next series). They're not described in any detail, and don't even go by the same name, so you'd never know unless you read both series. But for those who have... Oh, what a treat that little discovery will be. ☺️

  My husband (@securingdev@infosec.exchange) is in Las Vegas this week for a tech conference. On Wednesday, someone came up to him and asked, "Are you related to Sarah J. Hoodlet?"   I present to you, a female hummingbird enjoying some nectar from the massive cardinal flowers in our flowerbed! It's hard to tell, but this hummingbird was maybe five feet from me, which is the closest I've ever come to a hummingbird (unless I'm filling their feeder, then they dive-bomb me 😅).   #WordWeavers 6Apr—Can you create a character/place/story/hook/device on the spot if you need to? If so, share an example. Honestly, I doubt it. I'm terrible at ad-lib, or anything like it. If I need something like that while drafting, I often take a break and let my mind noodle over what's needed for a while. Not exactly "on the spot".

  I'm really enjoying re-learning German! 🤗 I would like to continue learning after our trip as well. The app I use (Pimsleur) has 5 levels, but after that, I'm not sure where to go for advancement and practice. German friends: any recommendations?   Question for my fellow authors of series: When creating release day/marketing materials, do you feature just the first book, just the latest book, or the whole series generically? I'm publishing the last book in my series tomorrow, and I'm trying to decide how I want to go about it. Right now, I'm leaning toward the whole series generically.
